Severe brain injury

This site describes the rehabilitation of a young man with severe traumatic brain njury. The 'story of a survivor' is a down to earth description of the work done by an occupational therapist who was directly employed by the survivor's family.

This fairly unique situation allowed the therapist to arrive at an understanding of the importance of occupation in brain injury rehabiliation. There is a wide range of literature used to support that understanding, which was eventually published as a masters thesis. The site is of interest to occupational therapists, but is also written particularly for families and those who are working in the community with people with brain injury.

This site also includes a list of useful links to resources which are related to all kinds of brain injury and also to occupational therapy.
